19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is his initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 initial opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
